Seeing Health, Healing, and Manifestation Through a New Lens
Right now, doesn’t it feel like we’re often inundated with messages telling us how to ‘fix’ ourselves? And that includes different healing techniques that seem out of reach. We’re given the messages:
Find the symptom. Fix the problem. Move on.
But in today’s conversation, my guest Banya Lim invites us into a very different way of seeing, one that expands beyond symptoms and solutions.
She is teaching that our bodies are always communicating with us.
Whether we’re listening or not.
And when we learn how to truly connect with the body, that connection becomes a powerful gateway. Not only for healing, but for manifesting the life we desire.

Growing Up Fluent in Energy
Something I enjoyed most about our conversation was learning about Banya’s childhood and history. Her relationship with the vast intelligence of the body, along with greater forces beyond, began in childhood.
She grew up in Korea in a family where energy, intuition, and healing were woven into everyday life. Her mother was an acupuncturist, herbalist, and intuitive healer who taught her early on that what we see is only part of reality.
Beyond the physical body, there is energy, spirit, and information moving through everything.
She and her mom spent long days walking mountain paths to remote temples. Along the way, her mother would point out which plants supported digestion, which nourished the kidneys, etc., but maybe even more importantly, she normalized intuition.
“What you feel, what you sense—it’s real.”
That validation quietly laid the foundation for Banya’s life path.
One childhood experience stayed with her forever. She once saw a neighborhood friend, who had been physically unable to walk, running freely through a field. Later, she learned the girl had passed away at the exact moment she saw her.
When she told her mother, there was no dismissal. Only one simple question:
“Did you say goodbye?”
That moment affirmed something Banya didn’t yet have language for, but felt deeply.
She, too, could perceive energy. She, too, could listen beyond the visible world.
When the Body Speaks the Truth
As she grew older, that intuitive awareness resurfaced through her formal training in acupuncture.
One phrase her mother repeated often became a cornerstone of her work:
“The body never lies.”
In her practice, Banya began noticing consistent patterns with her clients:
-
Chronic back pain is often linked to fear or instability
-
Lung issues are connected to deep grief or sadness
-
Physical symptoms tend to surface alongside divorce, loss, or unspoken fear
I shared that this reminded me so much of Louise Hay’s work in You Can Heal Your Life, and Banya agreed.
What was fascinating was that when she offered these emotional-energetic connections, clients didn’t need convincing.
They would pause… and then say: “That’s exactly when this started.”
This is the moment a lens shift occurs, and healing moves from treating symptoms to listening for the message underneath. It almost seems we’re encouraged to disconnect from ourselves in our modern medical communities. It’s almost unheard of for a doctor or any kind of healer to ask questions about our histories and try to connect our physical health or symptoms to something happening inside.
Moving toward looking more closely beyond the symptoms is a move forward, to say the least!

Beyond Physical Healing: Banya Lim and Clearing Energetic Blockages
Over time, Banya realized that insight alone, even intuitive insight, wasn’t enough.
True healing requires clearing the energetic blockages stored in the body, not just understanding them intellectually.
These blockages often form when:
-
A thought repeats itself
-
That thought generates emotion
-
The emotion settles into the body
-
And the body holds it—sometimes for decades
So blockages aren’t truly physical blockages as we may have conventionally thought. They are thoughts, beliefs, and emotions that get stuck. This doesn’t just affect health.
It shapes confidence, relationships, creativity, and success.
Many of her clients come to her not only with physical symptoms, but with desires:
-
Building a business
-
Stepping into leadership
-
Attracting meaningful relationships
-
Feeling stuck despite “doing all the work”
The work becomes about unblocking what’s already within, so life can begin moving forward.
Somatic Healing: “Going Under the Hood”
Banya describes her approach as “going under the hood.”
Her work blends:
-
Somatic healing
-
Energy clearing
-
Visualization and meditation
-
And sometimes acupuncture
Rather than repeatedly addressing surface symptoms, she helps clients identify the internal patterns recreating the same outcomes.
Because unless the inner landscape changes, the body and life will keep sending the same signals.
As she beautifully put it: “The outer world has no choice but to reflect what’s happening inside.”
This is where her work intersects so clearly with The New Lens Method™:
When we shift how we see and relate to our inner world, the outer world reorganizes in response.
We ourselves hold the key to unlocking the future that we are destined for.

My Favorite Takeaway from this Conversation: Being Before Doing (and Having)
One of the most powerful insights from our conversation was this reversal:
We often believe:
When this changes, I’ll finally feel better.
In practice, clients often come in and say, “I really want a relationship.” But what exactly are they seeking? What is the state of being that they feel they will possess or live within when they have that relationship, that money, or that house?
Digging deeper, it becomes clear that clients are chasing a feeling and a state of being.
Often, that looks like:
Peace.
Love.
Safety.
Here’s the good news! Those states already exist within our body. Each of us has an internal “zip code” where we habitually live.
The practice isn’t chasing these states externally.
It’s learning how to access them internally first.
So, ehen we reverse the order:
be → then do → then have
everything begins to reorganize.
When we can access the emotional state of “being” within the thing we desire, we can then do and have what we want most.
Can you remember a time when this was true for you?
Do you practice being?

Another Key Takeaway from Banya Lim: Move From Self-Love to Self-Like
Instead of jumping straight to “self-love,” Banya offers something more accessible:
Self-like.
One small moment, or 1% more kindness toward ourselves.
So that we can reflect back and think:
“I like how I showed up today.”
“I like that I kept going.”
That 1% matters. We’re willing to begin to shift our energy and attract even 1% more positive feelings. We can start really small.
Final Reflection: A New Lens on Healing
As you can tell, I truly loved this conversation. Banya offers so many nuggets of wisdom that have the power to deeply change how we feel about our bodies, our connection to our feelings, our intuition, and our own truly divine ability to heal ourselves.
We can choose to tune in to the wisdom of our bodies.
Instead of running away and seeking help outside, often it’s just a feeling or thought that needs attention and space to resolve on its own. I also love the idea of accessing the feelings within our bodies that we desire on the outside, nurturing and cultivating them, and then watching them appear in our outer world.
These are all wonderful kernels of wisdom to help us navigate.
And when we learn to connect with and listen more deeply to our body, the wisdom we’ve been searching for outside ourselves begins to rise from within.✨
Reflection:
What might your body be trying to tell you right now, if you were willing to listen through a new lens?
