My Favorite Find – The Little Market

Today I want to share one of my favorite shops in town, the little market. Just walking into this shop is inspiring. Long central tables extending through the shop center are all set with handmade dishes, glassware, and serving platters.

Along the sidewalls, spa items, more dishware, and gorgeous cookbooks line the shelves. Further upfront, hanging along the wall are an assortment of baskets and bags.

What makes the little market so unique?

But what makes the little market so special is the mission it puts forth – every single item is handmade by women utilizing skills to earn wages that help them to ultimately support themselves and their families.

“With every gift you give, you share inspiring stories, preserve time-honored traditions, and empower artisans in the most vulnerable communities.” – the little market.

I am very excited to do a giveaway this month! Here are the items:

First on the list are the rose-scented soaking salts.

The soaking salts are made at a center in Chicago with a mission to support young moms as they learn new skill development and job training.

Next is the rose-scented candle.

All of the candles are made by women in Massachusetts that have lived in refugee camps and are now trying to start their new lives in a new country.

Check out the rose-colored ceramic keepsake box.

This item comes from a company called Chabi Chic. The artisans work in a safe environment with proper wages and are working to honor their traditional craftsmanship by continuing to hone their products and skills.

The olive wood and bone scoop is multi-functional.

This scoop is handcrafted in the Philippines by artisans who continue to master their craft for three generations. The woman helping me at the shop mentioned that the scoop can be used for the soaking salts, but is also great for coffee grounds!

The woven basket is a perfect size.

The basket is handmade by artisans in Tanzania, including refugees and displaced women. It’s a great decorative, storage item.
