Meet Bridget Rice: Mother, Daughter, Sister, Friend, Business Executive, Philanthropist, Community Leader, World traveler.
Bridget grew up in Jamaica, then migrated with her family to the US for High School and University. When Bridget is not working (as a Senior Account Executive at Canon), busy with her children (three teenage boys), or supporting the many nonprofits she is involved with (serving on the Board of Directors of Good Sports and Board of Overseers Beth Israel Hospital: Milton) she enjoys traveling, running, gardening and spending time with family and friends.
What is a small and simple daily ritual that brings you joy?
Walking my beagle Dexter as he spontaneously leads me on the path.
Name a quality that you admire about yourself?
What activity do you do makes you feel most connected to your inner beauty?
Laughing out loud.
What is your motto or mantra?
It is never as bad as you think it is…
If you were wearing your rose-colored glasses, what place would you most want to be to revel in its awe and beauty?
Back at my childhood home/farm in Jamaica. Life was so simple and pure back then.
What has been the most useful advice you’ve received?
You will be and do different things throughout your life. Whichever thing you’re doing at a particular time in your life – enjoy that thing and live in that moment.
What are you most proud of?
My boys who constantly tell me that they “… love the way I live my life,”
Is there an example you can share of how another woman has lifted you up?
One of my dear friends accompanied me to court on the day of my divorce. She waited patiently in the parking lot for me. While in the parking lot, she saw my soon to be ex-husband. She ran and hid behind a car as she did not want him to see her waiting for me. I came out of the courthouse to find her crouching behind the car. We had a good laugh! I so am fortunate to have an army of incredible women in my life.
Bridget Rice sets the example of someone who finds joy in everyday life. Her resilience is the quality she admires most about herself.
Always remember the power of being surrounded by a group of women who love and support you. Often, that’s all we really need. x0-Tricia
