How to Create a Vision Book In Four Quick and Easy Steps
There are many ideas for making a vision board, but what about creating a vision book? They both accomplish the same thing, but you might find the vision book even more effective in achieving your goal – aligning your energy with what you deeply desire so that you can attract it now.
Benefits of Creating a Vision Book:
A vision book is a powerful tool for visually representing your goals, desires, and intentions.
Creating a vision book offers numerous benefits that greatly enhance your personal growth and self-improvement journey.
One of the primary advantages is increased focus and motivation on what you truly want!
Let’s face it: It’s so easy to get distracted. We’ve never been more distracted throughout history.
According to The Guardian, “This constant fragmentation of our time and concentration has become the new normal, to which we have adapted easily, but there is a downside: more and more experts are telling us that these interruptions and distractions have eroded our ability to concentrate.”
A vision book can help us hone in on something specific or worthy of our attention.
It can also spark creativity and inspiration, allowing you to explore new ideas and possibilities. It also serves as a powerful tool for overcoming obstacles, as it helps you visualize and strategize ways to achieve your goals.
Ultimately, a vision book helps you develop a positive and growth-oriented mindset, empowering you to realize your dreams.
Why do vision books work:
Elizabeth Rider states, “It’s all about your brain: Your reticular activating system (RAS) is your brain’s ‘filtering station’. Constantly seeing the images on your vision board helps your brain filter out the stuff you don’t know while focusing on what you want. Seeing a constant visual reminder of your goals is how your subconscious mind stays focused on your goals.”
Also, Abigail Brenner, MD, of Psychology Today, says, “The subconscious utilizes symbolism and imagery to express itself.” Thus, the symbols and images you select for your book can cause a more significant shift than expected.
The subconscious mind empowers 95% of brain activity. Beth Kendall states, “The subconscious mind is responsible for critically important yet mundane tasks such as breathing, sleeping, and organ function. But it’s also the powerful layer beneath our conscious awareness that holds on to all the information driving our thoughts, actions, and beliefs.”
It is where we hold the story of our past, and it has the power to impact our future massively. This is where we need to make changes; a vision book can get us there.
So, how do you go about doing this? Let’s get started:
Creating Your Vision Book:
1. The first step is to brainstorm.
Now’s the time to let your mind and dreams run wild!
As you learn how to create a vision book, consider some of these questions:
- How do I want to feel every day in my life?
- Where can I see my life expanding?
- What words describe my highest self and how she moves through her day?
- What inspirational ideas come to mind in health, vitality, work, family, love, relationships, spirituality, travel, style, and hobbies?
Get very specific! What do you want to create? How do you want to feel? Write it down.
Find Inspiration and Create a Theme:
What will this book be about? Will you focus on wellness, love relationships, financial abundance, and travel?
Start by exploring your interests and passions, and look to others for ideas and guidance. You can find inspiration from books, blogs, social media, or conversations with friends and family.
Once you have ideas, choose a theme that reflects your goals and aspirations. This theme will provide direction and clarity, helping you organize your vision book in a way that is visually appealing and meaningful.
2. Next, collect images that invoke the emotions you want to feel.
Take some time to collect images from the Internet. Many websites allow you to download pictures for free.
According to SelfMadeLadies.com, when selecting images, recognize the importance of choosing those that match the energy and emotions and seem to click with your subconscious mind.
Let’s take a deeper dive:
- Energy: Recognize where your energy is currently and select images that match the energy of where you want to be.
- Emotions: Emotions are the fuel that supports your energetic level. The images you select must evoke the emotion you want to feel. Small details matter! For example, the distinct look on the woman’s face or the sun setting behind that couple. Pay attention to how images make you feel the instant you see them.
- Your Subconscious Mind: When your subconscious mind is aligned with the images, energy, and emotions in your book, the universe can take the lead and move your desired outcome closer and closer to your reality.
3. Now it’s time to create your book!
As you create your book, imagine that you are communing with the universe and creating a vision of your highest self and who you want to be.
Keep your vibration high as you assemble each page.
Critical step: Add written words and quotes to your photos.
“Your vision of your ideal life shouldn’t be focused on ‘stuff’ so much as how you want to FEEL.
That’s why I like to add words to my vision board that describe how I want to feel, such as: ‘joyful,’ ‘abundant,’ ‘powerful,’ ‘fearless,’ ‘loved,’ ‘strong,’ and ‘healthy,’ ‘loving,’ or ‘financially free.’”
Your book should feel energetically elevated.
Bonus: Create your digital vision board!
Use Canva, Venngage, or any program to assemble your vision board.
As you create your digital vision boards, imagine that you are communing with the universe and creating a vision of your highest self and who you want to be.
Keep your vibration high as you assemble each page.
4. Display Your Vision Book.
Displaying your vision book is crucial in harnessing its full potential as a manifestation tool. Here are some tips to ensure your vision book remains a constant source of inspiration:
- Place it in a prominent location: Keep your vision book where you can see it daily, such as on your nightstand, desk, or living room coffee table. This daily visibility keeps your goals at the forefront of your mind.
- Make it a focal point: Arrange your vision book as a centerpiece in your home or office. Surround it with other decorative items to make it a focal point that draws your attention.
- Use it as a reminder: Regularly refer to your vision book to stay focused and motivated. Let it serve as a daily reminder of what you’re working towards.
- Share it with others: Share your vision book with friends and family. This will hold you accountable and allow others to support and encourage you.
By displaying your vision book prominently and using it as a constant reminder of your goals, you can transform it into a powerful tool for manifesting your dreams and achieving your aspirations.
As you flip through your book, remember the critical meaning of the Law of Attraction:
“Your Inner Being, or Source Energy, always offers a perspective that is to your greatest advantage, and when your perspective matches that, then positive attraction is occurring.”
― Esther Hicks, The Law of Attraction: The Basics of the Teachings of Abraham
Every time you look through the pages, allow yourself to feel resonance with the words and emotions you see. Take a moment to align emotionally. Trust in the “perspective of your Inner Being.”
** You are connecting with a part of yourself that already exists on some level. By doing this work, you are shining a light on this part of you and, therefore, are bringing it forth.
A vision board is a constant visual reminder of your goals, helping you stay focused and motivated.
Special note: Envision your book as a portal to your higher self – who you truly are.
The high-vibrational emotions you feel when you source images aren’t found outside of you but within you.
Your highest self knows this truth. Take it one step further and explore your highest self through this process. It’s not, “I think I want this, or I think I deserve that.” It’s, “I know who I am, and I graciously allow my vibrational match to enter my life now.”
And remember:
“Rather than being ready to jump into action to get the things you want, we say think them into being; see them, visualize them, and expect them—and they will be.”
― Esther Hicks, The Law of Attraction: The Basics of the Teachings of Abraham
My personal experience with a vision book:
In 2016, I decided to work on a vision book. I don’t know what drove me, but I was scouring the internet for images of couples I admired, and the next thing I knew I was printed them and clipping them.
Each one represented something I wanted to feel. I was drawn to the image’s emotion. After collecting about twenty, I glued them into my scrapbook. Next, I pulled some of my favorite quotes by F. Scott Fitzgerald and other authors who spoke to me.
I spent about 20 minutes jotting down the quotes next to the images. As I did this, I felt completely relaxed and very excited.
How it worked:
Over the next few months, I looked at the book sporadically. Every time I saw it, I felt the same emotions: peaceful, excited, and anticipating something extraordinary coming into my life.
Four months later, I met my husband. Looking back now, I can see that the feeling I had when I met him was precisely the same as the feeling I felt while creating my book. It worked!
It worked so well that I looked at the photos long after I met my husband and saw that he looked exactly like one of the men I had included in my book.
The universe can work in magical and surprisingly precise ways!
So, what are you waiting for? Get started now.
And good luck!
Let me know how it goes.

Ps: Forward this to someone you know who needs a little nudge. Now is a great time to show them how to create a vision book. They will thank you later ;-)
