How To Make A Vision Board For Manifestation in 2023
A vision board for manifestation is a living, breathing creation. It’s a form of communication between you and this magical, expansive universe. And a vision board sends the message: “This is who I am, and this is what I’m ready to receive.”
As I work on this article, I am simultaneously putting my vision board together with you. I hope this will help you make the most powerful vision board ever imagined! Let’s start.
But first, a law of attraction refresher:
“When you visualize for the joy of visualizing, rather than to correct for some deficiency, your thoughts become purer, and therefore more powerful.” -Abraham Hicks.
First, we must remember that we want to make this process joyful and fun! Allow for self-discovery. Encourage yourself to dream big and put whatever you desire into motion. Sometimes it feels silly to conjure these big dreams, especially during stressful times.
But it’s a GREAT idea! We need positive energy now more than ever.
The law of attraction is fascinating because it implies that we continually attract things into our lives, whether we are aware of it or not. And making the time to create a vision board signals that we recognize our ability to attract and manifest. We’re choosing to harness this power in a meaningful way.
According to a leading authority on the law of attraction, Abraham Hicks, when your emotions’ frequency aligns with the high vibrations you desire, you are sure to attract people, events, and circumstances aligned within this vibrational match.
Next, we need to explore more precisely how you want to feel to begin to attract your heart’s desires.
So, how do you want to feel?
For this step, it would be beneficial to slow down and get clear. How do you want to feel this year?
What are some moments you’ve had where you felt the happiest and most alive? Expand on these experiences and feelings. Jot them all down.
Do you want to feel peaceful and content? Or do you want to feel more excited and energized? Take the time to sort through your thoughts and feelings and come up with your list. Remember not to overthink it! Have fun, and enjoy exploring the emotions you want to feel this new year.
Next, who do you want to be?
Taking it further and asking yourself who you want to be is an even more powerful sign to the universe. You take the desired feelings and connect them to a more profound sense of purpose. This gives more meaning and more grounding to how you want to feel.
You can begin to see yourself already there, experiencing your desired feelings while doing the things you want to be doing.
See yourself engaging in meaningful work in your community. Envision yourself smiling and laughing with your romantic partner. Picture yourself with radiant health, enjoying a delicious meal in a beautiful setting. Let your imagination run wild as you create the vision for your board.
Now it’s time to source images for your vision board.
One way to organize your board is to focus and find images/mantras/affirmations/words/art to support different topics you have goals, values, or desires. Take the time to scour the internet, looking for ideal images that conjure the emotions you want to feel. Go through a stack of magazines or newspapers, seeking those images that speak to you.
Get creative, and remember that anything goes!
As you search, stay mindful of the feelings you want to feel in the different areas you want to attract- like health, wellness, travel, love, relationships, and career. Most importantly, you want to use images and words that evoke an emotional state within you. Stay open to new ideas and images that stand out as you search.
When I was single, I once made a vision board for manifestation that included images of couples I admired and quotes and words describing the feeling I wanted to experience in a relationship. The combination of the photos and quotes conjured the emotions I was looking for inside of me.
What variety of images, colors, words, and textures will bring you closest to the surface you seek? Do whatever works for you.
And remember, your vision board should be particular—the more specific, the better.
Next, put your vision board together.
There is no right or wrong way to do this.
Some people prefer to have their vision board online. Canva and Picmonkey have built-in tools for creating vision boards. You can make a small vision board inside an old picture frame or work with a massive poster board. It’s whatever works for you!
As for me, I have a bulletin board on an easel in my studio in my house.
Some people write affirmations and specific words on their boards. Don’t be apologetic. Just go for it! After it is complete, ensure you’ve represented precisely what you desire.
You can also add some wildly dreamy things for fun too!
What to do now that your vision board is finished:
The experience itself of creating a vision board for manifestation is hopeful.
According to Joyce Marter of HuffPost:
“Each year, I have been amazed by the experience-what I learn about myself and what I want and need. The exercise helps me develop a vision that I can refer to throughout the year, ensuring I stay on the path of my heart’s desire.”
Take a moment and have an appreciation for the board for manifestation you’ve created! Place it somewhere in your living space where you can see it often. Consider placing it somewhere in your bedroom. Jack Canfield recommends looking at your vision board in the morning and again at night before sleep.
“The thoughts and images that are present in your mind during the last forty-five minutes before going to sleep are the ones that will replay themselves repeatedly in your subconscious mind throughout the night, and the thoughts and images that you begin each day with will help you to create a vibrational match for the future you desire.”
Observing your vision board in the morning and night may help you “remember” your desired emotions and goals this year. Even a glance during the day may be enough to shift your feelings to a place aligned with your desires.
Now it’s time to let go of the outcome and allow everything to unfold.
Be patient. Remain trusting and hopeful. One of the most challenging parts of working with the law of attraction is letting go and allowing everything to unfold in its own time.
Don’t get frustrated when things aren’t happening immediately. You need to stay the course. Things are going to come along in their own time. Observe your impatient and insecure ego. Instead, recognize your frustrated thoughts, and choose to refocus on the energy of your vision board.
I’ve often read that the “allowing” part is the most crucial part of manifesting. I think that’s because it requires faith. Now is the time to deepen your faith. Believe that the universe wants to deliver to you everything you desire. Trust in a loving and kind universe.
The timing is not under your control. Keeping your emotional vibration aligned with your vision board is an attainable goal.
This process takes faith and awareness. Also, be prepared to be surprised!
Vision boards work! Your’s may work in a way that profoundly surprises you.
Think of a vision board as a lighthouse.
Remember, you are a multifaceted magnet attracting things into your life daily. You might have forgotten how powerful you are!
I like the idea of comparing your vision board for manifestation to a lighthouse. It is a reminder of where you are going. It’s also a reminder of the light within you, the light and energy that has the power to attract.
Gently allow yourself to remember the excitement and enthusiasm you felt when you made your vision board. Allow that radiant energy to sink back in.
In this way, the vision board is a powerful tool for reconnecting you with your most authentic self.
Remember who you are. You are a lighthouse!
