Kate’s Closet – Stylish Spring Looks to Refresh Your Wardrobe

I’m back with Kate Botts, our personal stylist, and we are talking about Spring! It’s so exciting to know that spring is right around the corner. She’s scoured the sites and found a handful of stylish spring staples for you to wear this season.

Let’s get started:

Cotton Smocked Puff Sleeve Dress from Cos

Versatile, Puff Sleeve Dress by Cos – Ensure a Stylish Spring with this Piece

RCG: I love the simplicity of this dress. I can see myself basically living in it.

Kate: These dresses are so easy. This is why I love Cos. The price point is great, too.

RCG: What made you choose this dress?

Kate: This dress is so easy. It’s such an easy throw-on. It’s great to wear out, now that outdoor dining will be available to us soon. Pair it with sandals. Or, try pairing it with a denim jacket and a boot.

RCG: What a great find, Kate!

Kate: This is a piece that has that detail on the sleeve, the ruching. I love that.

RCG: Beautiful! Let’s take a look at the next item.

Jie Eyelet Top by Veronica Beard

A Top that’s Feminine with an Edge

RCG: It’s sweet. I love the ruffles.

Kate: It’s really versatile. It works well with jeans, trousers, and nice wide-legged pants. This super cute top can be tucked into a pencil skirt or an A-line skirt. It would look great under a blazer or a leather jacket. So many options…

RCG: I’m going to go and try this on. There is a Veronica Beard here in town, lol!

Kate: Of course you are!

RCG: The model has it tucked in with a skirt.

Kate: Yes – exactly.

Babeth Floral Shirtdress by BA$SH

Cheerful and Vibrant Floral Dress by BA$SH – A Stylish Spring Piece

RCG: Very pretty. I like the curry-colored yellow flowers.

KAte: Yes, it’s a cheerful print.

RCG: What made you choose this?

Kate: It’s maybe a little louder than I would normally go for in some ways. It’s a bold print, but I’m a fan. This colorful dress can easily be dressed down with a white sneaker or a wedge in the summer. I would let it be all about the dress, and I wouldn’t accessorize.

RCG: Yes – sometimes it’s a relief to have a dress that stands on its own. Then, I only have to think about shoes.

Rikkie Top by Veronica Beard

Feminine and Playful Top by Veronica Beard

RCG: What made you select this top?

Kate: I love something with a bit of sleeve detail. Be it a frill or a button detail. This playful Veronica Beard top can be easily paired with a denim skirt or a pair of jeans. It can be dressed down with sneakers or dressed up with a boot or a flat.

RCG: It has a fun and flirty look.

Kate: Many women can wear this and feel great in it.

Gathered Midi Dress from Cos

Neutral and Timeless Midi Dress By Cos

RCG: I love this dress!

Kate: Remember, it’s online-only!

RCG: Is it going to feel dressy? Isn’t this more formal?

Kate: Yes – because it has the draping in the front.  You could even wear it to a spring/summer wedding. Also, this super versatile Cos dress can also be dressed down.

RCG: How?

Kate: I would wear it with a denim jacket. You can try adding a belt. You can try it in different ways and see what suits you.

RCG: Kate, I love these pics. They have brightened my day! It’s exciting to think that spring is right around the corner! I need some new stylish spring pieces to kickstart this new season.

Kate’s Pro-Tip

RCG: In light of women’s history month, I’ve been thinking about how personal style can tell your story. Looking back at photos from the history of the women’s movement, many iconic women had their own clearly defined sense of style.

How can your clothing play a role in defining your own personal narrative? How can clothing play a role in telling the world who you are?

Kate: Yes, of course! When you know who you are, it becomes much easier.

It’s important to note that you can evolve your style at any price point. My suggestion is always to prioritize feeling comfortable and confident in what you’re wearing.

RCG: Thanks, Kate!
