Clear Connections: Seeing the Power of Relationships in New Ways
In Clear Connections, we explore the many relationships that come into our lives and what we can learn from them.
Before we begin, it’s important to note, “People with strong social connections may live longer and healthier lives, according to numerous studies.” – Harvard School of Public Health.
So, there are many reasons to put effort into encouraging our relationships to flourish!
The energy of relationships:
An area of connection I love exploring is the energy shared between two people rather than just looking at the people themselves.
Some examples I’ve covered so far on the blog include taking a closer look at how the energy you give is the energy received— also recognizing how it feels when we’re energetically aligned with others.
We’re just at the tip of the iceberg of what this means and how shared energy can feel nurturing or depleting.
The clear connections of friendship:
“The best gift anyone can give, I believe, is the gift of sharing themselves.” – Oprah Winfrey
As mentioned above, studies are showing more and more the importance of connection to our health.
Your relationships with friends and community make the difference between living a ho-hum life or a rich life filled with people who inspire, challenge, and grow you into the highest version of yourself.
Interesting topics we’ve looked at so far include holding space for a friend in need, the power of listening attentively, the discrete art of letting people in, and the benefit of sharing our stories with others worthy of hearing them.
We also see the challenges found within the relationships as opportunities to grow and learn more about ourselves. Some examples include navigating the drifting apart from friends that are no longer aligned with who you are today, overcoming resentment, learning to detach in healthy ways, and recognizing that you can’t change other people, no matter how hard you may try.
Love relationships – a neverending source of inspiration.
“Kindness in words creates confidence. Kindness in thinking creates profundity. Kindness in giving creates love.” – Lao Tzu
